Four suits, thirteen ranks
A deck has 52 cards. Every card has a suit and a rank, like the ace of spades or the seven of hearts.
There are four suits of thirteen cards each. Spades and clubs are black; hearts and diamonds are red.
In Hold’em no suit is better than another. Suits only matter for a flush: five cards of the same suit.
